senior DESIGNER

Troy de Jong

Troy’s interest in landscape began in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where a childhood spent skiing, biking, and climbing shaped a deep respect for the natural environment. That foundation led him to study Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University, where he developed a design philosophy rooted in clarity, function, and ecological responsiveness.

He brings experience in both landscape design and civil engineering, having contributed to high-density housing developments, river restoration projects, and multi-use trail systems. His approach is shaped by the belief that good design must work across disciplines, respond to constraints with precision, and serve both human needs and the land itself. In previous roles, Troy collaborated with engineers, architects, and municipalities to produce schematic designs and construction documents. He is particularly drawn to projects that require balancing technical rigor with sensitivity to place.

Outside of work, Troy continues to move through the landscapes that shaped him. Whether on skis, a bike, or a trail, he sees time outdoors as essential to understanding the environments he designs for and the people who inhabit them.
